The activities of SteenhuisMeurs are not limited to research and advice in respect of cultural history. In order to be able to innovate and expand, ‘cross-border’ projects, collected under the heading ‘exotics’, are important to us.
Over the past 25 years, for example, Paul Meurs has been organising projects in Brazil and exchanges with that country in the field of monument care, urban planning, architecture and design, while Marinke Steenhuis has initiated a series of research studies on the subject of the development of landscape architecture in the twentieth century, which has led to publications, films, excursions and special events.
We share knowledge that has been built up with our bureau for educational purposes; e.g. guest lectures, projects and the part time professorship of Paul Meurs.
